In regards to my issues with TOR: It isn’t just server population or the bugs, and unfortunately it isn’t anything that can easily be fixed (I don’t think) by server transfers. I spent a good portion of today showing a friend some of the things I love about Warcraft and it just really underlined that not playing TOR is the right choice for me right now.
Part of what got me really excited about TOR was the idea of different worlds, because for me exploration and those little details within a world are so important.
My friend has played TOR and he was just blown away by the scale, the empty spaces, the little details that Warcraft is filled with. I’m still not convinced I’ll be returning to Warcraft but it did help me really define what my issues are with TOR.
Part of it, of course, is server population. But a bigger part is how small the world itself feels. For having all these planets you can visit, it ultimately doesn’t feel like you can really get lost. I never stumbled across anything out in the worlds of TOR that was just there for the sake of being there, but Warcraft is filled with areas that are purely cosmetic.
I wanted very, very badly to love TOR and I really did in a lot of ways, but ultimately it isn’t (and never was) what I am looking for in an MMO.
Showing off Warcraft to my friend today, hearing his awe when I took him up in a flying mount and showed him Tirisfal, wandering through Eversong and encountering random RP - these are the things that I’m really missing in TOR.
In my comment when I unsubscribed, I told EA/Bioware that I would be watching TOR and looking for an excuse to come back, and I really meant that. I have good friends who play and are excited by it still. I just can not justify playing when on some base level it isn’t what I’m looking for in an MMO.
I hope someday it will be.

This is my slightly rushed attempt to make a Chiss that Rabbit will HATE.

I realized I never posted any screenshots of my Sith Pureblood Smuggler, Thaos. Probably because I don’t actually have that many decent ones, so here’s the few I do have.
There’s actually a headcanon reason for him existing, it’s not just me indulging my Sith Pureblood fetish. >_> Short version: He’s the nephew of my Sith Warrior, Arcturis, and one of those oddities among Sith Purebloods, IE he was born without force-using abilities. Unfortunately, this is understandably No Bueno among his family, and Arcturis had him smuggled (lol) out of the Empire rather than see him get killed for being useless to them. He then proceeded to greatly disappoint his uncle by becoming an egotistical self-serving bag of dicks and a space pirate
and a super special snowflake whoops. \o/ There’s obviously more to it than that, but that’s a story for another time.
You know, I keep shying away from making more Purebloods because I show them to Rabbit and she hates them and I oddly crave her approval in stuff like character creation.
But this makes me want to make more. Forget Chiss, ALL OF THE PUREBLOODS

When I first got the game I joined a RP guild that didn’t work out for various reasons (mostly the homophobic comments that were a constant in guild chat and over vent). I’ve been out of the guild for a while now, but I haven’t had any luck finding more RP.
Can anyone suggest a guild or even a server where RP is good? Hotspots? Anything? Do any of you fantastic people RP?
I miss roleplay. :(

so my headcanon is pretty off from what the game tells you- that the agent joined imperial intelligence as an adult. but as soon as the words ‘eugenics program’ came out of keeper’s mouth my brain went to secret parts of those programs possibly involving aliens. kids born and raised to serve the empire? oh yeah.
twell’s parents (and grandparents, and great-grandparents) weren’t traitors exactly, but let’s say after “joining” this program they were not exactly welcome back on csilla. twell grew up on dromund kaas, fed on a diet of rigorous testing and teaching and training. he didn’t join; he was born imperial intelligence.
